Ajman Metro Suggestion for ADMIN AND MEMBERS ACTION PLAN
There has been discussions about metro in Ajman for last few years.
sadly nothing concrete from ajman authority. some argue its too expensive for a small emirate like ajman. however it has projections of growing dramatically, vis a vie the number of new projects for expat ownerable freehold status (unlike shahjah which has great limitations).
a stumbling block seems to be shahjah, which appears not to keen on the metro extention. which would be the natural route from dubai to ajman, coupled with the difficulty of finding adequate route for the railtracks through shahjah (unless underground through shahjah, which itself would be considerable expensive).
there are other views which indicate its something that should happen, with metro connections throughout all emirates in uae, and perhaps even entending and linking to surrounding GCC countries. if this is so, it would be pushed on a federal level at abu dhabi, however shahjah may well be the stumbling block.
since initial discussions about feasibility were raised about 2 years ago, and rumours circulated at the start of this year that ajman would be getting metro, the emir of ajman clearly stated no decision on it, merely (almost speculative) consideration.
since then i havent heard much from ajman authority on further developments in the press.
I think for us in emirates city, the metro would be tremendously important, not only boostering value of our properties but providing direct link into dubai for those wishing to commute for work there. I think we should collectively push for for the metro, and indeed push specifically for the ajman authority to make a station in emirates city (ideally in the centre near the shopping mall, or perhaps even in basement of shopping mall. If ajman is considering extention of any such metro to emirates road developments I think it would be a choice between emirates city or marmooka city. I think its vital for all of us to push it for emirates city
I suggest admin to consider and take action on the following action plan:
Point One
We should make presentation to them perhaps delegation consisting our friends admin, imre, etc who are based in uae, and any who are emirati citizens.
I suggest the deligation should be called
“Residents committee for Metro in emirates City”
1. The delegation should say to them the committee represents views of property purchasers in emirates city and surrounding developments on new ajman developments on emirates road.
2. these developments consist of freehold owners who many of whom have links through work and development in Dubai, and kindy urge the Ajman Municipality to consider a metro link extention into Ajman, and specifically for a station to be situation in Emirates City.
3. Emirates City is central Development of a number of new developments on the Emirates Road in Ajman. It is ideally situated to provide a convieniant and central position for metro access to surrounding developments.
4. it is also one of the largest developments on the emirates Road in Ajman, consisting of over 90 Residential and Commercial Towers.
5. a metro here would also provide convenient link between the new developments and citys on Emirates Road, Ajman and to Central Ajman, Cornice and new Al Zohrah City.
6. We urge the Ajman Municipality to provide this service for us, and the future link and development of these Developments on Emirates Road Ajman, to central Ajman, and to Dubai.
Point 2
This list of points should be attached to a petition. And I urge admin to set up an online petition on all forums and websites (ie emirates city, ajman/marmooka/humaid city and others) asking everyone to sign, stating on the petition this is joint petition from all these forums.
On each petition the signatories should have column, to state
• their name,
• Email
• residence, and occupation
• and name of property they own (of plan etc) in ajman, so that the ajman municipality will take the petition signatories seriously, especially if its people on other developments besides
• and comment section ( incase someone wants to add, would consider moving /investing in ajman and emirates road developments if knew metro connection there etc)
Point 3
We should all go to other forums like skyscapper city etc, and any others and ask people to support the petition and try to get as many people as possible signing it.
Point 4
Once we have a lot of signatures (perhaps over 6 month period if we can get 50,000 to 100,000 (which is not hard task if done properly by all) the residents committee should do 4 things: -
A.
Make presentation to ajman municipality with points and petition
B. Submit copy petition and letter of points etc R H Holdings and ask them to push for metro in emirates city with ajman municipality
C. submit Copy petition and letter of points to each developer in Emirates city and ask them to push for metro in emirates city with ajman municipality.
Issue press release and circulate it as widely as possible in all UAE press, middle easten press, property investment websites, international newspapers, and other online forums etc.
I anticipate these practical steps would greater enhance our chance of getting metro in Emirates city. Which I for one, think is the most important think for the long term durability and substantial prospects of emirates city.
Wow!
Wow! :jawdrop:
Very elaborate plan. Thank you for putting so much effort into this.
Ajman Metro Suggestion
Well Done Bro. Musafir,
for a well thought and pragmatic approach for the consideration and approval InshAllah by the Ajamn Municipal.
It is a wonderful suggestion that all the future dwellers of the Emirate City along with all the investors of all other projects on the Emirate road should jointly sign in the petition to achieve the maximum impact.
If I recall, it was Akibani who brought this woderful piece of information, and he also said that there was some one he knew who works in the Ajman Municipal. Perhaps we can use the good offices of this gentleman to pursue this further?

Imagine
Imagine the cost of a such project...
40 km of rails from dubai to ajman. Billions dollars will be necessary and many many years for the construction.
And do you really think that the gov think that all the region around EC is so important... If a metro comes one day (insh'Allah) it's logic it will pass by ajman downtown and not in the center of EC near the shopping mall. in that case, i want a station in front of my building !! lol !
For me, it's a dream.
But i support you in your step because all the world know that in UAE, everything is possible...
i think the cost is
i think the cost is relative
whether it be in the mall or on the outside of Emirates city entrance is open for consideration. maall would be conveniant as not built yet, and would booster the retails value of the mall units, which as r h holdings is ajman municipality backed, depending whether the units are sold freehold or leasehold, would booster the emirates city mall as a major mall in ajman further.
i think if ajman does decide to go down the metro route, and already there is some discussion from municipality to have station at cornice and al zohrah (with reference without mentioning other areas)
i think its viable they would also extend it to the emirates road developments. and would be a natural extention (even if not done in next few years, if metro is extended to ajman, emirates road developments would be on map for metro would be likely on plans in at least the next 20 years - however we should naturally push for it now, rather then in 20 years time).
many international cities have railway and metro subway networks. since dubai has it, natural progression and extention to ajman/shahjah woulld seem the practical next step.
Dear Musafir, Thanks for
Dear Musafir,
Thanks for your effort about this important issue.
1. Yes, We need to a petition system. Let me to have a time to preparing and launching this system. But i think 50,000 signatures is realy unaccesible. It's very very dreamful. Look to the rate of contribution in the polls. Although i accept that this issue is more important than our polls.
2. I know that you live in the UK, You should notice that in the UAE, There isn't a democratic government. So, We shouldn't expect that the gov pay attention to public requests seriously, Especially if the request would be for foreign residents. Any peacefull campaign is not acceptable for the gov.
3. Any infrastructure project would be feasible economically. If a project would be feasible, Don't doubt that the ruler of Ajman will do that for prestige of his small emirate and the financial institutes will finance it. Fianlly They will have to perform this project in the future. Even if you see the master plan of Humaid City or EMiratse Lake Towers, You will see that there are some station for metro.
The can predict that how many people will be resident in the new districts of Ajman and know that they can't use from public and private vehicles, Althoug hthey want to widen the Emirates Road.
4. We should notice that most of people need to commute to Dubai not Ajman. the federal gov intend to launch a railway for connecting all emirates. So, We need to execute that project instead of ajman metro. I heard about Sharjah metro too. But that's like Ajman is just a decision for the future. But they are serious because of traffic problem in Sharjah.
Let's to other friend post their ideas about this issue.
Again i appreciate from Musafir. You are one of active members. Finally just i say that we should be big, big and bigger and more powerful.
Regards :)
more than one line
if an inter-emirate metro will be built it will be not only for ajman residents. I imagine a metro line, or better a railway line, well inside in desert areas, running from Dubai up to RAK, with stations in every emirate, and from the Ajman station it will start a local metro line running toward the sea through Emirate city, Marmooka and other projects until downtown Ajman and corniche. This seems the way to bring commuter possibilities to every residents in northern emirates. Thank you Musafir, anyway, for your good effort I appreciate so much
Means of Transport.
Linkage by metro is while involving a huge cost cannot be expected to be put in place in a short time.
It could, at best, be dreamt of in the not so near, infact distant, future. There are many factors involved including financial viability and number of people benefitted. Such projects are rarely undertaken for prestige lest it becomes an absolute necessity, like in Dubai where the expansion has been tremendous and very fast which has led to manifold increase in traffic.
However, an immediate and very economical solution could be a BUS SERVICE with hourly frequency to start with, to link the projects along Emirates Road (including Emirates City) with Ajman Town/Corniche, Sharjah and Dubai.
This would be very useful for people not owning cars, or those not wanting to use them, given the distance and traffic bottlenecks and driving hassles.
Any comments?
Means of Transportation
I agree with you 100%.Metro is a good idea but has lots of drawbacks. It will be hard to walk to station and walk to work from station in 45 degree temp. With a good bus system there would be more destination options...Plus as you mentioned the cost invovled in building metro system verses just buying bunch of buses...
problem with bus is they
problem with bus is they provide limited alternative in speed to car travel. rather they would take more time then a car. in a car you can just get in and drive to your destination.
with buses you have to walk to the bus stop. then wait in the soaring heat, for a bus to arrive. then get stuff in traffic along with the cars, then change a number of buses, with added waiting and walking, till you finally reach a bus stop close to the destination you need to go to.
ultimately making it more time consuming and alot more effort. with minor advantage of the reduction in stress of one being stuck behind the steering wheel driving yourself, contrasted with the additional downside of buses on time and aspects as mentioned above.
a metro provides the major increased conveiniance of speed. no delays stuck in traffic. station provide shelter for waiting, and metros contrasted to trains generally are alot and more regular, thus waiting for them would be matter of minutes then 10s of minutes.

Dear Musafir,
I'll launch a petition system in the next week.
Please accept administration of the petition you suggested. You can manage the signatures and confirm them.
