I check this website fairly regularly to see how the construction of Emirates City is getting on. I have noticed it has become an on line estate agents. Any plans to revert it back to what it was originally meant for

Unfortunately the rules of website is not respected by many members and they add advertisements and commercial listings.
We can send a warning to advertisers by "Write to auther" and Moderators can modify or delete such posts.
I will do that Insha Allah.

Such adverts should go into 'listings' I guess. It's great to be able to look for, and advertise, properties but it shouldn't be in the 'forum' entries.

I would also suggest that maybe the selling adverts should not be placed to the 'front page', as it is not an article most readers of the forum come here ot look for.
I would like to see the front page of the forum be used for articles related to the Emirates City, not for selling (whether private or agent).
there is incidently already a section for adverts of apartments
and so perhaps such posts on main should be deleted with message sent to authors that they posted in wrong section.
adverts have been increasing of late as the site becomes more and more popular
already agents masqerading as lay members are onsite. presumably after perusal of site by-laws specifically prohibit proffesional commercial agency sales.
whilst not a widespread problem as yet, only time will tell.

Good idea! Sites such as Skyscraper have too many different forums that duplicate each other so it gets too complicated to see what's hapening with a particular development.

i think its not wrong allowing individuals to sell their properties through this forum. With this, EMirates City buyers will get the platform both for informaiton as well for making deals. Agents should be banned however to make the website overcrowded.
To make the site more attractive to end users and investors is to allow freedom to purchase and sell properties within U.A.E., and not limit to EC....this inturn will improve EC awareness, maybe?

adverts direct from owners provides a unique forum which over time will provide immence respect and adoration.
whilst agents/direct sales section may have its merits for people to have resource of contrast, perhaps that should clearly be in a separate marked section.
overtime other sections should be added too
like r example rental agents, and ratings for them on service/warnings of bad service etc so that when owners on completed projects look for reputable agents to use to rent out, we can have access of rmation from here
plus other things like renovations
tilers
electricians
decorators
furnishings etc
all things useful for owners/ aiming to rent out
or even those planning to live there, to renovate to their taste and furnish
then there will be commucal things like best places to eat
take away-deliveries
groceries
banks
all which would help owners and also market emirates city, which will ultimately help increase value
long term will be other things to develop which this forum can provide immence access
eg ajman is considering (but not confirmed ) feasibility of extending dubai metro
well wouldnt it be nice if ajman does, if a metro station is in emirates city
imagine the increase in value, and importance having a station here.

I m a new member to the community (only a few weeks) and I had been very happy all this time knowing that I could communicate and exchange ideas with other future property owners of EC.
Unfortunately the past week every time I log in, the only subject updates I find are related to listings. You can see them now all over the place... The people that actually participate in this community are becoming less and less and the subjects for discussion nowdays are limited only to "Listings".
I strongly believe that there should be a different section for property listings. Like other related web sites, anyone that wants to list a property should first submit all details to the administrator and his listing should go public only after getting approved by the admin team, under a separate section.
Dear Musafir, your proposals are excellent. Although u describe an ideal world and community, difficult to be materialised, it is always good to be so positive, targeting high. You went many steps further. I had never imagined that this forum could be so usefull once (hopefully) the EC project will be over as a whole.

i think the issue is demarcation between commercial agents masquerading as individual lay sellers, which is frowned upon.
whilst genuine individuals seeking to sell are still afforded this forum to advertise directly without the taboo of agents

It is has also been discussed in the past about the providing the management/services of towers in the EC on the completion of the project.
We can perhaps bring in all areas covered by Bro.Musafir with in the services which can be offered for the future.
