Dear All,

I am part of a group that is pursuing action against Goldcrest Dreams. TLG have agreed to represent us. So far we have more than 16 investors and are submitting a final list to TLG. Closing date is 5th February.

I have created an excel template and will be collating the details for submission to Sunil Thacker of TLG. If you don't already know much about TLG and Sunil Thacker, please visit

Information Requested for insertion into the spreadsheet is as follows:
- Name of Investor
- Email Address
- Current Residence Location
- Number of Units
- Name of Project (s)
- Total Dirhams paid
- Option Preference (see below)

(Option I - Subject to TLG review and based on facts and circumstances related with your matter, TLG may agree to work on a No Win No Fee basis. This would entail that you may not incur any upfront charges towards TLG professional fees in representing you. In such event, TLG will recover percentage of amounts they recover and/or settle on your behalf. Option II - Under this option, TLG will charge you a discounted rate to carry out court/arbitration representation on your behalf. The fees will be discussed once TLG have the opportunity to carry out an exhaustive review of your documents and the compliance check before relevant authorities in the United Arab Emirates in relation to your property in Dubai or Ajman.)

Very good , go ahead with legal action, this is the only option left now. Before you handover your property documents to any legal firm check their reputation. The one stated here Sunil Thacker of TLG is another cruk, dont have any single client with him. Those who go with him will loose your money and time. Since you have 16 people go to any reputed law firm who can diretly involve in the case and represent you in court.

We need not part with any money until we see his terms and conditions. If they are not favourable for anyone then they are free to not proceed. It really is quite simple.

My apology to Mr. Sunil Taker (TLG)

It is my apology to Sunil Thacker (TLG) about my comment which I made in this forum about him. I am investor who lost all savings and personal loan through my investment in emirates city project.

It was my frustration and embarrassment which force me to make such comment. In general I had come cross many advertisements for swapping between projects, law suits, and lawyers in this forum which I personally felt these are another trap to the emirates city investors who are already in very bad situations. More over all the lawyers whom I spoke to regarding my property they really disappointed me by putting their terms and conditions and unbearable fee structure. So with my tile investigation about the subjected lawyer I came to a wrong assumption which I posted in this forum by meaning all good for other investors.

In My detailed search in internet I found that Mr. Sunil thacker (TLG) is a well qualified professional lawyer with vast experience which made me to make write this apology.

I am note affiliated to any developer, lawyer or law firm but just an investor who brought promised property just for staying not even for resale.

It is illegal to take a class action in the UAE

I read in the National paper last Wednesday that it is illegal to take a class
action in the UAE. As you may have noticed, you cannot have a union at work
and i for one have been in need of union advice over the last few months.

firstly nikee has valid point.

be very careful signing a power of attorney, and what general instructions you give a lawyer.if you sign in writing you give him power to settle MAKE SURE YOU SET PAREMETERS. i would be hesitant to give any power of attorney and definately not any absolute one. and any instructions to lawyer to settle case for you, should say (no settlement without written consent by you for final terms etc).

secondly no win no fee can be 2 types,

1 you win, and you get FULL compensation. the Lawyer gets paid as extra (to cover your legal fees) from other side.

2. you win and the LAWYER TAKES SHARE OF YOUR COMPENSATION to pay his lawyer fees. (this can mean you could loose quite a bit from any compensation you win, because lawyer will take share. if you go into no win no fee agreement like this, make sure you know what percentage/amount of money he will take as compensation before hand and you are happy to give away so much. eg if your property is 100,000 AED. you paid instalments of 50,000 aed. you make case to get back your 50,000aed. and you win and court gives you judgement for 50,000aed. will you be happy with lawyer taking 10,000aed 20,000aed or even full 50,000 to cover his fees (sometimes there legal fee might be 70,000 and you only win 50,000 so the lawyer might take all the 50,000 you win !!!)

IN BOTH CASES - if you loose case you pay nothing. (but sometimes laweyrs will say you still pay some fixed costs, like court registering fee etc so check terms) if you win

so anyone taking such no win no fee, and before agreeing to any terms of instruction or powers of attorney with lawyers make sure you are happy with terms and NO NOT GIVE TOTAL POWER TO LAWYERS TO COMPROMISE AND SETTLE. MAKE SURE CLEAR ANY AGREEMENT/SETTLEMENT is only made with your FINAL APPROVAL.

Nikee is certainly a fraud

No more comments required. If you have the guts and even small bit of honesty left, share the names of ten broken cases! You really out of your mind! Your English certainly proves that you are not a native English speaker. You are an Arabic trainee or a paralegal lawyer working for one of those 'not so good' law firms. Frankly, I dont have much to add but I suggest you take time out and pray good for yourself!

No refunds have been provided to European investors as far as I know. Star Giga doeds not return any of our emails and telephone messages, They have also removed Goldcrest Dreams from their website. Things look extremely bad. When investors visit them they are sympathetic and accomodating and say that they will get the escrow account in ' weeks time'. They have been saying that since last year.

We need HELP........... We need our money back.......

I am total agree with you, we should try to get our paid money back. Just to re-iterate I doubt if anyone has got their money back yet as I have already spoken to hundreds of investors on this development!!! If someone had got their money back already the whole bloody forum would know within 20 minutes!!!!

I respect all the concerns...be careful with lawyers, no one got a refund...

Just that..do your research well. Agreed, there are big sharks out there and its time for lawyers to mint money, but there are exceptions. I've made many friends here and I'm supportive of careful and planned legal action. But, I can confirm that I (my family) have been successful in getting my money back through my lawyers.

I have investments in two of the above projects. I have managed to obtain decisions for both the properties in my favor. I am waiting to see if there is any appeal.

Be careful guys, investajmn just became a member to post this information. Sunil Tacker might be behind this just to collect some cash from desperate investors. IF a case like this be'd won, the UAE press would talk about it.

I agree with Josau, there seems to be something missing here...

If investajmn has really won then he needs to give details & post judgement not only in this website but also inform the press to publish it. If investajmn does not do this, he seems to be one of the developers or a laywer playing the trick on the investors to grab what ever little bit of money which is left with the poor investors.

Every single developer in emiratescity is in a breach of contract.. Why can't we find a good lawyer to take this people to dry cleaners? In u.s. there are lawyers who chase ambulances to get new cases...

Escrow Account

Hello Folks,

I have also invested in Gold-crest Dreams, I have received an email from Star Giga Establishment Limited on the 22nd of October 2010 informing me that they have opened the ESCROW account and the construction has been restarted. They also want me to pay 70,000 UAE Dirhams by mid November. This is what they say in their email "To date we have completed 28.44% of the construction (see ‘Attachment B’) and hence Star Giga is entitled to collect up to 58.44% of the contract purchase price".

If you goto the ARRA WEBSITE, ARRA indicates the Project is only 22% complete to date while Stargiga claims it is 28.44 % complete :)

Anyway i have absolutely no plans to pay a single penny further, i am hoping they would refund me my hard earned cash but after reading the above posts the chances seem quite slim.

Any of you guys have had any luck with the lawyers so far ?

I would appreciate any feedback.
