Goldcrest Dreams 2
Anyone has any idea when construction will start on these 3 towers ? I can see Giga are launching the business Tower but no news on residential still. What are the prices on the Business tower and what impact will it have on the other residential towers ? Any genuine updates appreciated.

The prices of the business
The prices of the business tower are about 500 dhs per square foot. No news so far from GIGA Star on the start of construction of GD 2. An advice, you can never rely on what they say. Construction starts on the time you see it actually happening in the site as before that there are lots of factors where many are not in the hand of the developer that effect the starting date (e.g.: licences, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors, ...). As for the last point, in my view the fact that you have a mixed community, I mean residential and commercial is good for the appreciation of the residential units as commercial units will create demand for residential units in the same community for either owners of commercial units or staff working there.

Because there is nothing about goldcrest dreams 2 on their page.
It is not listed with their projects.

because I see they are working very serious on goldcrest dreams.
Look at the new pictures(the pictures of today) of goldcrest dreams what a good company eta star is.It looks better than any company that is busy building in emirates city.
I dont believe that eta star is building goldcrest dreams 2 because I havent seen anything on paper that eta star is building it.
If you are looking at the page that I have given you will only see goldcrest dreams and goldcrest dreams 3 in their project list and that is strange.

Can you elaborate when you say Dreams 2 appears to be reality? Has construction started? Do you have any concrete info and photographs? If so please post them rather than just being impressed with their new Offices !

It was the most stupid idea of me to buy in goldcrest dreams 2.
If I had bought in goldcrest dreams 1 it would have been better for me.

You are sending money and you dont hear anything from them.That is number one.Number 2 is you are asking things from them and they are not clear.If you are making a contract and you are sending it to them

Giga star works together with eta star but eta star isnt building goldcrest dreams 2 ,giga star is building it.
I tought that eta star is building it but when I was reading the papers it was all about giga star and not eta star.

What are you talking about, I think you are throwing out the baby with the bath water. All 4 Goldcrest projects are done by Star Giga which is a joint venture of ETA Star and Giga. ETA Star is building none of these projects, it is a company called Sky Construction LLC. When I bought in GCD 2 I was aware that construction is due to begin in Feb 2008, all other info was given by agents , who don't have a clue or who even mix up GCD 1 and 2.
As of the contracts: You are right, they are slow and should get their 'shit" together.

Your saying that you knew that they are starting construction in begin february but we all knew that they are starting in december.
They first said they where busy building (they said that in august)
afterwards they said they will start in december and now you are saying they will start in february 2008.
I dont believe these people are going to build.Maybe your also working with them to calm people down.

No, I am not working for them, I just baught as you did in GCD 2. This is not my first investment in the UAE and I am used to delays, false information etc. I am totally convinced that Star Giga is a top enterprise and that all 4 Goldcrest developments in Emirates City will be among the best ones in regards to quality and time lines. I was with Imre on site in september and they were soil testing on thew GCD 2 site. This usually takes place 3 months before the start of construction. Dvelopers in the UAE always pretend that construction has started, even if they only just cleared the site. Later they will tell you, what you want to hear concerning completion. This will go on until hand over. I have learned to add to their time lines at least one year.

Josau's words are reassuring. But has anyone who is based in UAE recently been to the GCD 2 site and acutally seen whats happening? ANy supporting photos? Would be really helpful.
Meantime, who has visited the office recently and what has been told to them?
I learn from friends that there is a shortage of electricity on this site and SKy constructins ahs just about sorted this with the utility company to supply them this vital infrastructure. ANyone knows any more about this?
Boils down to the infrastrcture support issues.

I am from South Africa...and recently visited the Dreams 2 Site with other purchasers, all from South Africa.
We were taken to the actual site of construction by Mr Veeren Patil of ETA STAR GIGA...i must admit that there was no signage or non that i could see of DREAMS 2 or ETA STAR GIGA, and this may well have been any site...but as said before, i have been to the offices of ETA STAR GIGA...and i was impressed with the presentation of some of their projects, also i am not easily impressed by anything but this company does seem to be one of integrity...i suppose time will tell.
But ALWAHSH is right in that we need to be sure and stand together in the protection of our investment/s
There is absolutely no harm in investigating all angles of the company and the developement...so ...keep up the good work.

Baboo you are repeating your impressions of the offices. Did you actually see any construction (ie piling, digging, cranes, anything?) in GCD 2?
Since you were with Mr Patil of ETA Stargiga, didnt you ask any pertinent questions about the construction/start date, completion date? Or the absence of any activity for GCD 2 ?? Surely people expect more details, especially if youve been to the site.

If we all didnt have bought in goldcrest dreams 2 then the office of goldcrest dreams 2 wouldnt excist.
I have fought with goldcrest dreams 2 office about the contract
and about papers that are going slow and have never been send.
For example. I have payed 3 installments all at once 1 month ago
and I havent heard if they got the money and I am trying to ask
it nicely for a month and they didnt give me any answer.
But yesterday with screaming and rough words to them I got the
paper in the same day on the internet that they got the money.
So the goldcrest dreams 2 office only works with screaming.
But I am going there after 8 months and I will tell them how to make
the building of goldcrest dreams 2.
If people here dont care about what those people do then they
will get deep into trouble.I know that everything will be build
but noone from us wants to wait so long for the construction.
If people can wait so long ,I cant wait so long.

they are saying nothing is build yet there.And there also no board
yet there so everyone keep waiting long like this till everything will

I can only repeat again, that when I was in Ajman in september, they were soil testing. Generally piling starts 3 to 4 months after soil testing, so nothing will happen before beginning of 2008. This is when they usually put up a sign. Then they will do foundations. It'll be long before you'll see a crane there as they will only bring on a crane once the building goes above ground and will start rising. I wouldn't expect a crane on site before fall 2008 ( if you take the time frame of GCD 1 as a reference).

I am only worried when they will start the piling and also my
problem is that there is no board.If I see a board and they are busy with the piling then I wont be worried anymore because when they are busy with the piling then you will know when the building will be finished.I think everyone thinks the way I think.
One year delay is normal
I have also bought in GCD2 and i visited the site in may-2007. That time the agent told me clearly that the GCD2 will start after some time and not only this but almost all the projects in emirates city will delay. none of the projects expected to complete on time. there are many reasons behind. mostly they were facing labour problem that time.
Any way, if the project is delay, our installments will also delay as the big installment which is to be send on time of completion and handover will also delay. so they will try to complete the project with minimm delay because they knows it very well.

I finally got my contract signed by Star Giga back. It took a while due to a misspelling in my address. Hope now, they will start ground work beginning of 2008 :)
