dear investers in GCD,
I am one of the investers in GCD and i live in UK, a year ago a member of my family visited Star Giga office and they showed the buildings which then was half way the construction. I want to know how many of UK investers have invested in GCD we may be able to advise one another and swap Ideas.
could every one invested in GCD from uk send me email through my account in Emirates city forum, so that I know how many of us are from here invested in GCD. if we help each other we may get somthing out of this mess. we may be able to get legal advice in uk from someone who points us in the right direction and share the legal costs amongs us, whatever you thing, email me your ideas and what you thing we may do. i would like if we know each other little bit more so that we go the same direction about this problem. one thing is true, individually you can't get far.

I PURCASED THE APARTMENT WHILE MY PARENTS WERE IN DUBAI IN 2006/
I PAID 30% AMOUNT AND LATER DEVLOPER ADVISED TO HOLD INSTALMENTS AND SENT ME A RESCHEDULE PLAN WITH 2 YEARS DELAY
I MOVED UK IMMEDIATE AFTER BOOKING THIS APARTMENT AND PAYMENTS WERE MADE ACCORDINGLY AS PER SCHEDULE.
NOW THERE IS NO WORD FROM STAR GIGA OFFICE DESPITE VARIOUS EMAILS SENT TO THEM.
I AM LOOKING FARWARD TO ANY PROCEEDING TO GET BACK MY OWN INVESTED AMOUNT AS QUICKLY.

i think the case against them which was supposed to be filed by ossy of this forum is no longer going ahead.
i have just come back from dubai and this is what i would like to share
in emirates city the 4 goldcrest towers are the ones whih have been built up the most (though this probably does not mean much)
when i went to emirates city there was no work going on whatsoever in any of the buildings
i met with mr shibin who had been previously been ignoring my emails and he advised me that they had an escrow accunt approval from arra but it expired as they did not complete all the relevant paperwork on time, so now they are in talks with arra to try and get the approval again in some way.
he advised that the other towers in emirates city will now probably not go ahead and they are looking to conslidate these towers for the customers into some other projects.
when i got back to the uk and tried to contact mr shibin again i have so far been unsuccesful, by phone, email and sms
he said the 4 exisiting towers will definately not be ready before july 2011

According to the contract(including force major caluse), they have to refund the investors 100% amount (aganist written request from the buyer), if the handover of the apartment is delayed over 2 years from the completion date (which is 31.07.2009 as per original contract). The revised handover date (21.07.2011) is exactly 2 years from the original contractual completion date citying power/infracture structure delay (covered in Force major clause but the work force major is not mentioned in the letter).
My understanding is that as per contract, the buyers are entitiled for 100% refund of amount paid if the delay is 2 years, can any one take a look at the contract and shed some light on it.
