Well we should not lose hope, Property market always take longer route to mature. Yes, there has been some delay but eventually what i can see that at least half of the Emirates city which is already risen up will be completed in next 2-3 years as a first phase, hence all investors whose properties are seeing action in last 2-3 years have a good chance.

I have an apartment in Emirates City Tower but now the realty company wants to switch me over to M&R Towers because the City Tower is probably not going to be built. Is this a legitimate swap or are we going to end up in a similar situation a year from now with more money invested in that we can't get out. Also, is it even worth it with the real estate prices where they are now compared to the original contract.
Property investments are always worth over a long duration of time. Some times properties mature over decades/generations, hence one has to always look at long term. In my personal view, outlook is very bright for UAE

I went past emirates city last week, it looks a derilect mess, cant see how it would ever be fit to live there.
What towers that are part built have bits dropping off them which cannot be good, there was nobody to be seen working on anything.
