Completion date...2008... remeber?

Ajman Bound's picture

Hello,

Just thought to write after a long time away from here..

I wonder how many of the early member remember that when we opened the doors to this community.
Our first plans were to celebrate the New Year in Ajman this year...
So, December 2008 was the first date some of us were given as the completion, so first of us 'should have' moved in to our new apartments around today.

How are things now... should we maybe be looking forward to moving into our new apartments and celebrate New Year at the end of 2010??

I think Sweethomes are supposed to receive a new statement from the constructors in December in regards to the a new estimated completion date.... So let us see if we hear something new before the end of the year.
(I think the current estimate is ready in July 2009... I know that is not realistic, so I hope they will come up with a realistic time-frame)

Completion date...2008... remeber?

Hi Ajman Bound,
Welcome back.
Well we all were looking forward to celeberate & welcome 2009 in Ajman and can perhaps optimistically look forward to welcome 2010 in Ajman - that is if are lucky. What do you think?

Regards,
Lee

Weclome back...

Yea, I remember those happy days. As they say, "Anything truly great is worth waiting for." 2009, 2010, 2011... When ever it happens, it will be a great time. I look forward to putting faces to the avatars! What does Mr. Burns, or the alien dude REALLY look like?!?!? Until then.... :-)

2013 is Realistic

If we want to anticipate the realistic date for moving into EC - given current problems - would be the end of 2013. Ofcourse, we have to take into account the utilities and infrastructure.

Successful Project

Salaam good fellows,
Be patient please, I believe in spite of all difficulties and delays which naturally cause desparation for investors, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel if you look carefully. Emirates City up to now is considered a successful project among many others in Ajman, RAK and Dubai which have been affected by the global economic crisis or delayed for some other reasons. Remember the giant "Al Salaam City"!........Be patient.....Inshallah our investments will be safe.....I think the biggest problem we have at this time is that we hear the whispers of eliminating Residence Visas for freehold investors in Ajman as well as Dubai......Hope the issue will be resolved in future.....inshallah.

milking our pockets

Dear Group
we all in the same Boat, but the issue is that they want us to contineu installment payment (which supposed to be after completion), for me till now I have payed more than 1/4 million AED for my appartment in paradise lake, and Im not ready to pay any more until I got my keys, And I have inform them with this, even if I have to go to the court,
dear Group: I hope that all of us should move in the same direction, our contracts state that the remaining should be payed (after possssion), we should insist on this point, this is our right
I would like to hear from you also

You are right

Dear Tuma,
You are absolutely right. We are not cattle that can be dragged whichever direction the shepherd wants. We are one party of the two, who has contracts with equal terms to honour. If the developers do not stick to theirs, why should we? I think we should not pay any more money till we receive the keys to our apartments, or see significant construction developed.

fight for your rights

if we all stand together maybe it will make a difference. i have understanding that we are able to submit a new payment plan according to the delay of completion. you can put a realistic plan forward according to what you feel that you can afford.#
if anyone has any further information about delaying the payments please enlighten us, it is important, the more information we all have the better for us all. does anyone know any uae lawyers out there, consult them for advice?

Hello Lee and Smitty, Yes,

Hello Lee and Smitty,

Yes, you were there at the beginning and our great plans for 2008 New Years celebrations.. :) Maybe another 12 months and we might be closer to making that celebration true.. which I think could be a reality (of course depending on the utilities...)

I have been in touch with Sweethomes and really find that they reply to my questions quickly and give me the information to the best of their abilities all the time (not sure what others feel like??)
Yesterday I received a photo showing the B08 tower having reached the 12th floor... the progress has been very positive with this tower in the last months (in my view). And with Sweethomes at the moment quoting Dec 2009 as completion... it just MIGHT be possible. Sweethomes told be that they are expecting more detailed information from the builders during December... and will inform investors after this.

Sweet Homes

Hi Ajman Bound,
I have had conversation with their London Office and have been told the same and further been reassured that the company is cash rich and does not seem to be effected by the squeez from their banks due the credit crunch.

Further more, I am planning to visit Dubai in January & perhaps meet up with their management and get mre accurate picture of the situation as it stands.

regards,
Lee

Good to hear that others are

Good to hear that others are getting the same message...
Do let us know if you do visit Dubai/Ajman in January and talk to the management and what they have to say.

Will you try to visit the site yourself to get some photos of the progress of the building...(now at 12th floor... January 15th??) Looking forward to hearing what you come back with from the U.A.E !!

All in the same boat

Send us a postcard with a picture of the towers on the front!
Should you go, may you come back with postings containing good news Inshallah.
After my angry email back to Sweethomes last week in response to their completion date reminder, I had to phone the dubai office to make sure my comments re non payment were received. A lady called Naima confirmed receipt of email but I am stil awaiting communication from Sweethomes management to that effect. I'm glad some people have managed to have decent conversations with them.
A premier project like Emirates City cannot be seen to fail, and I don't think it will, however reassurance from developers to their clients would be a start.
There is a lot of nervousness out there in the world at the minute. It only takes an email/letter to calm the masses.
Can you imagine if this site did not exist and we were not able to express opinions and have discussions on this? ay curumba!
