The only solution to get our money back is fight developers in the media. A friend of mine is a reporter in the cnn news, he told me that he can help us to post the scam in ajman projects in the cnn news. but he needs to meet investors and take their opinion. What do you think?

what will highlighting negativity do for your cause ?
i think adding fuel to fire of highlighting negativy causes more problems
it frightens new investorrs (which causes problems to even good developers in ajman)
it also gives panic to exisiting investors who get more worried and want to sell at loss.
this becomes domino effect, causing more and more panic
and eventually collapse and everyone looses.
what we need now, is 3 things
1 some redress /bailout for those who lost with collapsed developers (this maybe limited, as investors took risk, and depends how wide problem).
2 - greater accountability and rigid enforcemebt to ensure investors are protected (ajman govt trying to do this with arra and escrow accounts)
3- help strengthn ajman image to booster marketability and help all in long term. posigtive image of ajman, means more apartments sell, means value of ajman grows, means value of investors grow, means developers get all their money (and linked with escrow) will get work completed faster.
and all benifit.

Developers obsessed with image
The developers should stop being obsessed with image, publicity and stubbornness, and focus on results, milestones and achievements. If there has arisen a big problem in achieving the promises given to the investors at the time of their purchases, then hiding the problem would not help anyone, not even the developers. The investor should not have a contract which the developers do not want to comply with, thinking they can get away with it. The famous old saying has today come true: "A contract agreement can only be as good as the party who signs it".

But 'HOW' is the Big Q. Since the master developer , the Govt regulatory authority and the police all are not of any help to the investor.....there are no laws to protect the investor..................so where should we go.
Is anybody ready to listen to our CRY? Only media be'z that is their job. Media is required to wakeup the conserned people from their sleep. For such a big & prestigious project, there are no developments on the basic infrastructure ( Electricity and Water ) so how are we going to live there even if the few developers make the structure.
Today we are crying BUT tomorrow the Govt will cry if they do not take action be'z they would lost all the goodwill and trust in the world.
We have to wake them up.

my view is any discussion with media should be constructive
not merely complaining developers 'are liars and cheats etc and we are being tricked fooled' like some on this forum seem to want to do. this would be little more then unsubstantiated hearsay, making the author sound like an idiot, or worse induce panic of ajman being ALL fraudulent investment area, scarring ALL away from the area.
i think rather certain key things to be addressed, and i think those are essentially the 3 things highlighted above
1 - redress for those who have suffered through rogue developers who have gone awol/bankrupt
2- an appreciation of some developers (Like dwarish mentions not all are bad SOME are doing work) who are doing constrution
3-developers to ensure construction is completed in timetable and /or provide adequate compesation for delays
4- registration with arra/escrows and development theirein

EC is not a fiasco, infact those in row D (like myself and others) have finnaly seen work occuring in last six months, with progress occuring weekly.
whilst i like others would prefer work to be done faster and more efficiently, i dont think anyone was in any doubt before investing in ajman there may be delays in delivery. Dubai has had many delays.
however coupled with global financial crisis, further delays are inevitable. and i think some of us with more robust developers are grateful that we are having some work done and not standstill.
this does not however mean we should accept delay, rather should insist developers ensure they comply with timetables, and/or give investors compensation for delay.

Guys, just listen to this scam. Ajman launhed what is called Zorah project which is 200 billion dirhams in value which consists of more than 1000 tower along the coast of ajman. So in addition to the 900 towers which are already launched(but not yet started) on the emirates road we have 1000 tower. In addition to the above they launched what is called ajman airport and also they launched power plant. So we have approximately 2000 tower and infrastructure to be built.
What a scam. The whole city of new york is less than 2000 towers!!! How can ajman which is the smallest emirate and that no infrastructure and no petroleum build all these. They have sold all the lands in ajman to expats( developers) that sucked our money on just promises.
Really this is the scam of the century which is very similar to Madoff ponzi scheme. Out of the 2000 towers, em sure that not more than 50 towers will be built with no infrastructure and there will be no airport and no power plant. by the way they did not start building the power plant as they promised.
But any way we have to continue paying our installements because the money that we are paying is not hard money, its money we get from gambling or from lottery , so there is no problrm if we loose it.
Remember all investors that we are doing wonderful thing, we are contributing in building ajman from zero. so our names will go in history book, so dont be sad in any way. So we are charity organizations and helping ajman to become like Dubai.

Lets compile the subject matter for media
All the investors who are interested in presenting their views to the media should start writing/compiling the subject matter. Can we assign individual responsibilities and deadlines? Please take the initiative. This will enable us to be ready with the subject matter while approaching the media. A lot of the discussion is now already available in this website. The aim of our presentation should highlight the solutions for the present failures in Emirates city (particularly the infrastructure), so that this great opportunity of the world's biggest project initiated in Ajman is not lost. People from all parts of the world have invested here because we could forsee a great opportunity for Ajman to follow the success of Dubai. Last week I visited Los Angeles, and was surprised to see only a handful of Towers in the city downtown. I still feel UAE can beat the world in high rise construction.

look at dubai- they already been through the mud all over the world with the Nakheel bonds. The Ajman Govt. and Dubai can not do anything, I mean absolutely NOTHING. Even if they get these developers what they going to do? These guys are BANKRUPT, so you can take your frustrations out on them, sue them jail them etc etc. But the reality is nobody can do anything to salvage this situation. Sorry to be so blunt but that is the reality, you want to chase the guy in UK, chase them all around the world and then what? They spent your money already and its all gone. The problem is that the whole thing crashed as result of speculation. THE ONLY way this situation is going to improve is that market confidence to return back in the region and this will take little more time just be patient. The Emirates City will eventually get built it will take some more time though. By going to the media it will not achieve much more than getting your frustration off your chest. But please if you need to do that be my quest. I have also invested around 150k on the Crystal Residency and its just sitting there, look confidence will start returning to the region slowly over this year and next year the region will be booming again. Until then all I advise is just wait and focus your energy in building up your cash so that when the project takes off you in a good position to pay for it and get your returns with profit.

If you're in a position to stick with it and if you went with a reputable developer this is exactly what one should do. Go to ARRA and they will let youknow, who the "better" developers are. To put a building on hold in the current situation isn't necessarily the wrong strategy. What do you want to do with a ready flat in a ready building surrounded by nothing? Even if it's hooked up to electricity or water, nobody would want to live there. Even JLT in Dubai is struggeling from the fact that it's not finished. Once finished it'll all change. At least a good part of EC needs to be up and running for people to want to live there. This will take time. How long, nobody knows. The "spercialists" were wrong with the downturn, why should they be right about the recovery?
