I am thinking of buying on tower 22 with lake view, However according to the artistic plans of the emirate city the lake ends wher the shami towers start, so i was wandering does any one know will it be full lake view like the developer says or partial lake view which the plans show. I would also appreciate any other information which will be usefull.Also i have noticed the prices have gone up.
To be honest I looked into Shami Twin Towers and eventually went for Lake View Tower 4. The developer seems to be decent. The building is better located than Shami being closer to the shopping centre and having a full lake view on the widest part of the lake.

Brooks have said to me that construction has halted for a few months because they are changing contractor's, since the previous one has been arrested. They have submitted paper work to the municipal to change contractor and it could take months before they get authorization.

I see some new pics on the updates in bredubai.com site also. hopefully they complete on time and within the grace period.

Hi All. Has anyone got money back from Shami project? I invested in Tower II but when i contacted them sometimes a year ago they said they had no money for refunds but they wanted me to continue paying installments.
A similar situation (kinda) is the Lighthouse investment in Dubai where the original developer ran away but investors were eventually able to start getting their money back through tireless efforts of a core investor group and a Law firm called Khasawneh & Associates. The negotiations involved the Dubai Lands office and the office of the Ruler. Both the Lands dept and the Rulers office were instrumental and supportive in reaching an agreement with the developer's family who agreed to a payment plan in return for re-possession of the plot.
We need to form a group, gather money and get a lawyer. If the ruler of Emirates City guaranteed investments in EC as part of their marketing, he may have some legal obligations to sort this mess out. Has anyone written to the EC Lands Dept? What is their response? Brouks still maintains an office in EC, to me that means they still have an interest in the project.
If we persist we will get somewhere; it took lighthouse investors several years but in the end they started getting their money back. To form the group we need investors who are based in EC or Dubai, any volunteers?
